Objective: Irritable bowel syndrome is a chronic psychosomatic disease. Stressful events play a critical role in this disease, and lifestyle modification is one of the treatment priorities for these patients. The present study aimed to examine the role of health-enhancing lifestyles among stressful life events and salutogenic health indicators in these patients.Method: Data analysis was done by structural equation modeling. The statistical population included all patients with irritable bowel syndrome referred to Imam Sajjad Hospital in Tehran in 2019 and 2020. The statistical sample was 229 patients selected through Purposive sampling and diagnosed by a psychiatrist based on ROME-IV criteria. Research tools included the Bringsen Salutogenic Health Indicators Scale, Sarason Life Events Inventory, and Walker Health-Promoting Lifestyle Profile-II. Data analysis was done by SPSS-20 and LISREL-8 software. Ethical considerations based on confidentiality, respect for the rights of individuals, human dignity, and avoiding harming the participants and distorting information were observed. Also Participants had full authority to withdraw from the study at any timeResults: The relationship between lifestyle (t=2.723, ß=0.17) and stressful events (t=-2.31, ß=-0.42) with salutogenic health indicators was significant. The mediating role of lifestyle between life events and salutogenic health indicators was meaningful at P<005 and a standard coefficient (0.0-13.11).Conclusion: It seems that lifestyle and control over stressful events affect the health indicators of patients with irritable bowel syndrome. Therefore, it is suggested to provide appropriate training programs to control and manage stressful events and provide strategies to modify lifestyle to improve health.

AbstractObjectives: This study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of the integrated approach ofmeaning therapy and hope therapy on tolerance of ambiguity, alexithymia, and psychologicalhardiness of women with breast cancer in Dezful City.Method: The statistical population of this study consisted of all women with breast cancer in Dezfulin 2021, from whom 30 people were randomly selected and assigned to experimental and controlgroups. Toronto Alexithymia Scale (Taylor, 1986), Ambiguity Tolerance Scale , andHardiness Questionnaire (Kobasa et al.,1982) were administered to both groups. Then theexperimental group was subjected to group therapy of the integrated approach of meaning therapyand hope therapy. The number of therapy sessions was eight 90-minute sessions, and after theend of the training course, both experimental and control groups completed the researchquestionnaires again. After collecting data, multivariate and univariate analyses of variance wereused to analyze data via SPSS software. Results: The results of the data analysis confirmed the effectiveness of this integrated approachon tolerance of ambiguity, alexithymia, and psychological hardiness (0/001). Also, the results showed theeffect of this integrated approach on the dimensions of alexithymia (difficulty in recognizingemotions, difficulty in describing feelings, and extrovert thinking) and the dimensions ofpsychological hardiness (commitment, control, and struggle). Conclusion: The findings of this study could lead to positive consequences of the integratedapproach of meaning therapy and hope therapy in women with breast cancer. Keywords: Integrated approach of meaning therapy and hope therapy, Ambiguity tolerance,Alexithyma, Psychological Hardiness, Breast Cancer

Introduction: Pelvic inflammatory disease is a chronic disease and a common infection in women which is associated with significant complications. This study aimed to compare cognitive abilities and personality traits in infertile women with and without the pelvic inflammatory disease.Method: The research method was causal-comparative and the sample of research included 48 infertile women with pelvic inflammatory disease and 57 infertile women without the pelvic inflammatory disease, who were referred to Al-Zahra Hospital in Rasht in 2021 and were selected through the convenience sampling method. The research instruments were a demographic checklist, the Cognitive Ability Questionnaire (Nejati, 2013), and the Neo Personality Questionnaire (McCrae & Costa, 1985). Research data were analyzed using mann-whitney test and multivariate variance analysis. Results: The results showed that there was no difference between infertile women with and without pelvic inflammatory disease in cognitive abilities and personality traits (p >0.05). But there was a significant difference between four of the seven components of cognitive ability (memory; P<0.05, U= 899.00, inhibitory control and selective attention; P<0.05, U= 933.00, decision-making; P<0.05, U= 863.500, and sustained attention; P<0.05, U= 924.500), the total score of the cognitive ability variable (P<0.05, U= 815.000), and openness in both upper and lower levels of education (P <0.05, U= 907.50).Conclusion: Infertility with causes of inflammatory and non-inflammatory was not lead to cognitive dysfunction and differences in personality traits but education as a potentially influential variable can play a crucial role, which needs further research.

AbstractObjective: Being overweight and obese in adolescence is associated with severe health effects during their lifetime The purpose of this study was to explain the mediating role of self-compassion in the relationship between family cohesion, stress, and quality of life with body mass index in adolescent girls Method: The current research was descriptive-multiple linear regression From among the statistical population of the research, 250 teenage girls were selected as the research sample using a multi-stage cluster sampling method, and finally, after dropping 50 people from the sample group, the data of 200 of them were analyzed. The tools of data collection included the Samani Family Cohesion Questionnaires (2001), Byrne and Mazano Stress (2002) Scale, the World Health Organization Quality of Life (1996) questionnaire, and the NAF Self-compassion (2003) inventory. For data analysis, structural equation modeling was performed using SPSS26 and AMOS24 software. Findings: The results showed that the model of body mass index based on the quality of life, family cohesion, and stress with the mediating role of self-compassion has a good fit. It also indicated that family cohesion, stress, and quality of life did not predict body mass index in adolescent girls, But quality of life predicts body mass index in adolescent girls. Conclusion: It seems that self-compassion plays a mediating role in the relationship of body mass index with family cohesion, stress, and quality of life in adolescent girls. Keywords: Stress, family cohesion, self-compassion, body mass index, quality of life.

Background: Ppsychosomatic therapies such as peptic ulcers impose high economic, social, and personal burdens on patients and society, this study aimed to compare the effectiveness of group mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT) with emotion-focused therapy (EFT) on cognitive emotional regulation in patients with peptic ulcer. Method: This study was conducted with an experimental (pre-test-post-test-follow-up) design and a control group. For this purpose, 45 patients were selected from among the patients referred to gastroenterology and internal medicine and digestive clinics who met the conditions to enter the study. The participants were randomly assigned to three groups: control (15 people), EFT (15 people), and MBCT (15 people). The control group did not receive any treatment during this period. The participants completed the standard cognitive emotion regulation questionnaire of Garnefski& Kraaij. (2006) before and three months after the interventions. The obtained data were analyzed by repeated measurement analysis of variance. Results: Overall, the obtained results showed that EFT and MBCT are effective in the emotional regulation of patients with peptic ulcers (P=0.001). Comparing the effectiveness of MBCT with emotion therapy on adaptive (P=0.56) and maladaptive (P=0.22) emotional regulation showed no significant difference in patients with peptic ulcer. Conclusion: Therefore, it can be said that both emotional therapy methods and MBCT have a positive effect on the emotional regulation of patients with peptic ulcers, and these two methods can be used for the emotional improvement of patients.
