Objective: One kind of violence and social injury that harms the victim and the family's physical and mental well-being is domestic violence. Years after the violence has stopped, its repercussions may still be felt. The purpose of this research was to examine the structural model of childhood emotional abuse on psychological distress with the mediation of executive functions in women victims of domestic violence.Method: This study was a descriptive-correlational study conducted using structural equation modeling (SEM). The statistical population included 650 women referred to Social Emergency Welfare Centers (123) in Tehran in 2023 (1402 in the Iranian calendar). Participants were selected purposively based on predefined criteria. Data were collected using the Childhood Emotional Abuse Questionnaire, Executive Function Questionnaire, Short Form Domestic Violence Screening Scale, and Psychological Distress Questionnaire. The data were analyzed using SEM and model fit indices in AMOS software.Results: The model fit indices for the causal model of psychological distress based on childhood emotional abuse, mediated by executive functions in women with domestic violence experiences, were greater than 0.90—indicating acceptable and desirable values. The findings show that the direct, indirect, and total effects in the model of executive functions in the relationship between childhood emotional abuse and psychological distress were significant at the 0.05 level.Conclusion: The findings indicate that childhood emotional abuse significantly contributes to psychological distress in women who have experienced domestic violence, with executive functions mediating this relationship. These results highlight the importance of interventions targeting executive functioning to mitigate the enduring psychological effects of early emotional maltreatment in this population.

Objective: Hypertension is a common and chronic condition that increases the risk of heart failure, stroke, kidney disease, and psychological issues. This study aimed to compare self-focused attention, emotional abuse, and psychological distress between individuals with hypertension and healthy controls.Method: This descriptive, causal-comparative study was conducted in Miandoab. The sample included two groups: individuals diagnosed with hypertension (selected via purposive sampling) and matched healthy individuals. Participants completed the Self-Focused Attention Questionnaire (Woody et al., 1997), the Emotional Abuse Questionnaire (Norouzi, 2012), and the Kessler Psychological Distress Scale (Kessler, 2002). Data were analyzed using SPSS version 26 and the Kruskal-Wallis test.Results: Results indicated significant differences in mean levels of self-focused attention, emotional abuse, and psychological distress between individuals with hypertension and healthy individuals (P ≤ 0.05). Mean scores for these variables were higher in hypertensive individuals.Conclusion: These findings suggest that addressing and reducing these characteristics is significant in managing and treating hypertension.

Introduction: Whenever there is an outbreak of infectious diseases, psychosocial impact has been observed on individual and social levels globally. The psychological and social effects of the COVID-19 epidemic are potential and widespread, which affect people's mental health in the long term. The present study aimed to investigate the role of neuroticism in predicting psychological distress through perceived stress and loneliness in covid-19.Method: This research was carried out in the form of correlation and structural equations. The statistical population of the research was all the students of Azarbaijan Shahid Madani University, 300 of whom were selected through convenience sampling, and the neuroticism scale was from the short form of the Neo questionnaire, the Cohen et al.'s perceived stress questionnaire, the Kessler psychological distress questionnaire, and the loneliness scale. Social Emotional Assessment for Adults (SELSA-S) was administered to them. Then the obtained data were analyzed using Spss26 and Amos22 software.Results: The results showed that neuroticism is related to psychological distress through loneliness and perceived stress. Also, there is a positive and significant relationship between the components of loneliness, perceived stress, and neuroticism with stress, anxiety, and depression.Conclusion: Therefore, considering the increasing spread of psychological distress, it is necessary to reduce people's psychological distress by teaching self-care skills and stress management.

Objective: The present study aims to investigate the effectiveness of group logotherapy on psychological distress and belief in a just world in M.S patients.Method: This is a quasi-experimental study with a control and an experimental group. The study population consisted of 583 members of the MS Society of Iran located in Ilam City in 2021 who were selected through the convenience sampling method. According to this research method, the number of samples was 30 (15 people for each group) selected by the Iranian MS Society through the introduction of the members of the association. To measure the variables, Kessler's Psychological Distress Assessment Questionnaire (K10) and the Fair World Belief Questionnaire were used by Sutton & Douglas (2005), Dalbert (1999), and Dalbert et al. (2001). The therapeutic intervention in this study was a group logotherapy package for MS patients, and treatment sessions (based on Mohammadi, E-Fard, &Heidari's dual therapy package, 2019). Spss24 software and Covariance or ANCOVA test were used to analyze the data.Results: This study showed a noteworthy contrast between the experimental and control groups in terms of psychological distress and belief in a just world at the level of 0.05. Subsequently, two primary theories of affirmation and zero suspicion were rejected.Conclusion: It was found that group logotherapy is compelling to mental trouble and belief in a just world in MS patients. Therefore, this treatment method can be useful in clinics.

Objective: The role of cognitive, metacognitive, and meta-emotional factors in psychological distress has been clearly confirmed. The current research aims to examine a psychological distress model based on intolerance of uncertainty and emotional schemas of cancer patients with the mediating role of metacognitive beliefs and cognitive avoidance.
Method: Regarding the methodology, the present study was correlational based on structural equation modeling. The study sample included 300 cancer patients who visited various hospitals in Tehran and completed the questionnaires of uncertainty intolerance, stress, depression, anxiety, emotional schemas, metacognitive beliefs, and cognitive avoidance.
Results: Findings demonstrated that the proposed model has appropriate fitness among cancer patients. Also, the relationship between mediating variables and endogenous and exogenous variables is significant. The variables under investigation explained 46 percent of psychological distress variance in the patients.
Conclusion: Psychological distress in cancer patients is affected by the interaction of excessive emotional states, intolerance of uncertainty, such as metacognitive beliefs, and emotional schemas.

Objective: The study was aimed to compare the Training Package (SMN) and low-calorie diet (LCD) on psychological distress and weight in overweight individuals due to decreased adherence different diets.Method: In this clinical trial, the population consisted of all overweight individuals referring to the nutrition clinic of Ardabil in the northwest of Iran. The research was conducted from Oct 2018 to March 2018. For this aim, 30 healthy women (BMI >25 kg/m2, age: 18-30 years) were randomly selected (for each group: 15 subjects). After Anthropometric measurement, the Depression Anxiety Stress Scale (DASS) questionnaire was completed before and after intervention among these persons. The repeated measures of ANOVA have been used for the analysis.Results: The findings showed that there was a significant difference between two groups of Training Package (smn) and LCD and the SMN effect on depression, anxiety, stress, and weight variables is greater than the effect of LCD (P<0.05). The series of multiple replications the ANOVA analysis showed that Training Package is a good cure for weight loss.Conclusion: The results showed that the effect of Training Package (SMN) intervention on depression, anxiety, stress, and weight loss was more than the effect of LCD. Therefore, this method can be used as a treatment method for weight loss and psychological distress in obese individuals.
